How to Get a Variety of tones from Just Your Pick // Guitar For a Minute: Episode #2

We're back with another episode of Guitar For a Minute with your host, @desmachine. This month's GFAM is how to get a variety of tones from just your pick.

Most players use the "pointy" end of the plectrum, but did you know that you can turn the pick around sideways for a unique and softer sound? It's an old trick adopted by funk and R&B guitar players when they needed to modify their rhythm guitar playing sounds on the fly. Don't forget to try this technique for your lead guitar playing as well, especially if you're looking for a softer attack.

Head over to our YouTube channel to watch the rest of the GFAM series.

Guitar For A Minute is a monthly series of tricks and tips for the guitar hosted by Desmond Smith, aka @desmachine, for Original Fuzz Magazine. You can find more GFAM episodes, here. Follow along each month, and feel free to share your own tips and tricks with us.
