Fort Houston is about as cool as a cigarette in James Dean’s mouth. Within each square inch of the 10,000 square foot warehouse lies creative action most established businesses are still figuring out how to acquire. There’s a motorcycle shop, print shop, woodworking studio, photography studio and countless wallspace of hanging art, found art and accidental art coexisting within the confines of an inspiring community of established creative citizens. The facility offers memberships, classes and hosts a variety of events, most noteworthy being a focal stop on the city’s free monthly Art Crawl.

Inside Fort Houston lies Nashville’s DIY print shop success story, Grand Palace, which started from scratch to rise as the go-to screenprinters in Nashville. Designing and printing material for local artists, businesses, restaurants, and musicians to widely recognized names like John Prine. Pretty good for a business that started from a closet.
