How to Wear a Fuzz Strap: Built to Spill Edition
We had a great time at the Built to Spill show Friday night. Before the show we got to watch the band soundcheck, do a cover of Pavement's "Here," and then sort out some timing issues on one song. It was cool to see their process.
When they were done checking we met the band and gave them some Peruvian guitar straps. Last time they were in town we felt bad because we weren't able to hook everyone up with straps. We just had one prototype that we could give to Doug, which he's been wearing on tour for the last year now.
The show was probably my favorite BTS show since I saw them at Coney Island when the sun was setting and fireworks were going off behind the stage. That was a special moment, but they sounded great and closed with covers of "Don't Fear the Reaper", "Train in Vain," and "Age of Consent." Doug wore his trusty old strap and Brett Netson rocked a new Peruvian strap in green straps. They looked great and sounded killer.
