We're going to start a new thing here on the Fuzz Blog wherein we post songs we like whenever we feel like it. So for the first in the series I give you Echo & The Bunnymen's 1984 classic "The Killing Moon".
My full appreciation for this song did not come until I had to learn the bass line for a Halloween party last year.
It's one of those songs that seems really simple on the surface, but it's extremely catchy and sophisticated underneath. In my opinion that's the mark of a great song. The band's singer Ian McCulloch once called it "the greatest song ever written." He might be right. Enjoy.
