Dealer Tip: How to Track What People Say About Your Guitar Store on the Web

Note: This post is geared towards the great independent music stores that carry Original Fuzz products. If you don't fit that bill, you might still find it useful and interesting.

We wanted to share a quick tip that will enable you to keep track of everyone that's mentioning your store online, especially on social networks. It's a nifty service called Mention. Check it out here.

These days more people than ever are talking about your business online—from tweets to Yelp reviews to Facebook comments to blog posts. Mention lets you know each time you appear in a conversation on the web. You can use that information to reach out directly and engage those customers. It's a great way to capitalize on positive comments, or to quickly correct any negative comments. Plus, it only takes a few minutes to set up.

One pro tip is that Mention will pick up anything that you say from your own website and social media accounts, so you'll need to use the "block source" feature. For instance, we've blocked the official Original Fuzz twitter profile because we already know when we're mentioning Original Fuzz on our own Twitter account. Also, depending on the name of your business, it will sometimes pick up unrelated topics, so you'll need to use the "Mark as Irrelevant" button. We sometimes have to mark items related to fuzz pedals as irrelevant.

We hope you're having a great week and this small tip helps improve your business! Let us know if we can do anything else to help you out.
